10 Hand Picked Pet Friendly Condos This Week in MA and NH for Sale From $270K to $520K

The quick answer: This week, 214 Springbrook Cir in Portsmouth NH leads the list at $399,900: a 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo in a pet friendly community with a pool, tennis courts and trails. Nine more condos whose listings say pets are allowed run from $274,900 to $519,900.

You'd think the hard part is finding the right condo. The truth is, it's finding one that says yes to your dog.

You find a condo you love. Good light, good kitchen, good price. Then you read the rules. No dogs over 20 pounds.

Your dog is family. You're not buying a home they can't come home to.

If you've been there, you aren't alone. Pet rules knock out more condos for my buyers than price does.

Here are 10 condos whose listings say pets are allowed, one per town. Then scroll down for the dog parks and trails near each one.

The right condo is the one everyone in your family can come home to, four legs included.

How did we pick these 10 pet friendly condos?

We pulled every condo for sale from $200,000 to $700,000 across the towns we serve on October 24. We kept only the ones whose listing says pets are allowed, welcome or permitted.

Then we compared each condo's price per square foot to its town and kept the best value in each town. We skipped 55+ communities and listings that said they need major work.

What should you ask about a condo's pet rules?

Pet friendly can mean a lot of things. Ask for the rules in writing before you offer.

  • How many pets can you have?
  • Is there a weight or breed limit?
  • Do you need board approval or proof of insurance?
  • Where can your dog go to the bathroom, and are there leash rules?

Rules can change by vote, so read the latest meeting notes too.

Can you offer less than the price the seller is asking?

Sometimes, and it's worth asking. Most buyers wait for a price drop. That wait can cost you the home.

Here's what I do. I look at how long similar homes take to sell. A week before a home hits that point, I ask one question. Is the seller open to a lower price? A calm ask saves my buyers real money.

Where are the best dog parks and trails near these condos?

Here's where you and your dog will spend your Saturdays: the dog park, the trail, the coffee shop that has a water bowl out front, and more. Want the full picture? Read our town guides for Portsmouth NH, Tewksbury MA, Windham NH, Haverhill MA, Newburyport MA and Atkinson NH.
